Step 3: Managing Content
Websites go live every day, many without the ability to be easily updated once going live. Today we look at how content management systems can reduce your website costs AND improve the way your business operates online.
A Content Management System is a system which empowers non-technical users by providing the ability to change and maintain their website without needing any knowledge of web coding. In addition, most content management systems have modules to cover specific needs a business may have. For example, not all businesses need a business-listing module, so why add that complexity for the non-technical staff to deal with?
Gone are the days of having to find that one machine with the files to update the web site. CMS are accessible from anywhere using a web browser and have an editor interface similar to standard word processors such as Microsoft Word (these are termed WYSIWYG editors).
