Control Your Programs
Many programs are set to start up when the computer boots up slowing down your start up time and taking up RAM. This screencast is not for beginners. It is important for certain programs, like virus protectors, to start up when the machine starts up. However most programs do not need to start up right away.
Every time a computer starts up, there is a list of programs that are started up as well. Programmers know that if the program is loaded up at start up it will respond faster when it is needed.
Meanwhile, a portion of RAM (Random Access Memory) is reserved for every program that starts up. This limits the amount of RAM available which slows down the computer for a program that may not run this session. By removing programs from the msconfig StartUp screen we free up RAM.
